Installing Drywall
Begin by cutting a 3/8 inch diameter hole in the tip of a tube of construction adhesive, and run a continuous bead of adhesive on the joists above the first panel you will install. If you will be butting panels at the end, run the bead about 3/8 inch from the edge of the joist that supports the end. Run a new bead for the next piece.
Work with someone else when installing a drywall ceiling. Build a 2x4 support for you helper to use hold up the panel. Work together to lift the sheet against the ceiling in a corner of the room. Then support the sheet with your hands. You can also use padding in you hat and use your head while your helper supports it with the 2x4 T shaped support column. Start at the end of the sheet, driving 1 1/4 inch drywall screws through the drywall into the joists. Drive the screws in at about 16 inch intervals into the joists. Push the sheet firmly along each one of the joist to make sure it is embedded in the adhesive.
